Amber gold, and very spicy on the nose. Like gingerbread, but made with golden syrup instead of treacle. There's something earthy too. Wonderful balance here. Citrus spiked and lots of bold, sweet bitterness but beautifully countered by a symphony of tangy, orange-toffee depth and spice and acidity. Great freshness, lots of energy. Quince and apricots, and then a lovage-like herbal finish. Quirky and good to match with spicy desserts or a creamy curry.
